alright, i’m finally inspired to pen down stuff.
BMT is over. I survived, thanks to god. (:
I’ve made friends, but sadly not the friends I thought I would make during this BMT. They said that it is during BMT you make life long friends. But somehow that term life long doesn’t apply to me. Its not that they’re bad people, just.. people I don’t know so well. I don’t know about their family backgrounds, their life, why and what they do daily. just simple stuff like that. but well no regrets. I enjoyed my 3 months in that island full of botaks. Learning what is there to learn, regimental and non – regimental. Of course nothing can replace what I went through during that period and I would say I would not trade it for anything else. I finally passed my ippt thanks to god’s grace and well my friends’ constant encouragements everyday. Thanks to Shavonne for keep being there during the tough days, for keep wanting to support and hear my constant complaints.
Well some of you might’ve heard; last week of BMT (like literally) was this thing called the Standard Obstacle Course (SOC) test. So basically this course consists of 3 parts. First you run 50m, then of course you start the obstacle course of many things challenging both physcially and mentally. The last obstacle of the course is this ramp. You run up a slope to roughly about 2m, at the end of the ramp you have to jump off landing on the ground. Now, right below there are barb wires, so mentally you’ll think that you have to jump further to avoid it. Well before the actual test, we were given a chance to do it twice. Both times I freaked out just as I got to the edge. But I jumped off still, landing properly. On the day of the test, I felt confident and ready to complete the course. When I jumped off, I felt free and happy! But when I landed, not so happy. I somehow only managed to land straight, on my feet. Upon landing, I felt this remarkable pain from my waist all the way up to my upper-mid back. I fell straight forward hitting the ground. Well cut things short, I was hospitalised on the 2nd of Sept, some 6 days before my Passing Out Parade. I’m diagnosed with a T6 Burst Fracture, basically the 6th vertebra of the spinal cord is burst creating a fracture. (I think). Well, currently staying home till the doctor says I’m good to go.
Thats just what happened in the past 3 months. Looking forward to which where I’ll be posted to next. Alright, I’m inspiration ends here.
