October 2008

well ok, my blog is rather dusty and stale.

I’ve been too lazy to blog now since I got back from Penang. Usually I take the time in the office to blog my time away etc but now its like…….. shrugs. No mood to shoot photos, no mood to photo edit. MP is starting soon and I’m quite scared actually. Seeing how talented my groupmates are, I’m afraid I might not have much to offer. In fact, doing something MIGHT just actually screw things up. I know I want to put in the best I can though still my skills isn’t as good as theirs. I know that, they know that. We’ll see how it goes I guess.

Things have been going quite awesome with love (as in person). (: Many things to blog about but I’m just not feeling it today either. Maybe another time. I shall attempt to go to bed.

on a lighter note, I miss brownie!

Raymond must’ve scared her outta the room!

She kinda likes plopping in my bag.

being back here, feels the same like being there.
ah wells.

Well, this post is for the birthday girl.

Just a little something I did for your birthday?

Hope you’ll like it.

Enjoy

Fun at TGIF! Ask for more Fridays Birthdays!

Alright! Here’s an update! MunYee turned 20 last Friday. We surprised her at midnight by singing her a birthday song with edmund and me on the guitar. It was pretty alright, and she was embarraased. Touched too i hope? heheh. So anyway, our initial plan was to give her another surprise at red box that night (Friday) which was all the way at Gurney and transportation was going to be a problem. But anyhow, Edmund decided to ‘plan’ another surprise by leaking it out.. accidentally of course. We tried covering it up but yeah, MunYee found out in the end. *THANKS EDMUND!!* But anyway, our quick thinking brains quickly moved on to plan B which was to go TGIF!

I’ve blogged about TGIF before on how about they celebrate people’s birthdays and such. Our food there was awesome and we had a special guest joining us – Miss Cherry. She came by, had dinner with us and chatted a lot.

Dinner was quite filling! We could hardly move after the whole dinner and just then the TGIF staff brought out the cake and make MunYee stand on the chair. *the whole thing was all planned* So she stood up, being a good sport and all. One of the staff gave her the plastic knife backwards and told her it was her microphone.

She was given a chance to make a *short* speech and was made to sing a song of her choice. She chose to sing the TP song? *Patriotic to TP?*

And yeah. It was quite fun altogther with cameras and polaroids! Awesome dinner with great friends at a terrific place to make unforgettable memories. (:

I know this is a tad late but,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS POON! HOPE YOU ENJOYED YOURSELF ON FRIDAY NIGHT! (:

House of 8 (Bayan Bahru) welcomes new housemate? Miss Brownie Kitty Cat!

YES! you read that alright. We have now a lil kitten living with us. She’s just adorable. Lemme start from the beginning. Joyce and Pei Zhen (other housemate) decided to bring us to Batu Fringi last night just to walk walk. It was quite far and it was Edmund’s and Yong Han’s first time to that area in Penang. We saw stuff like perfumes, printed tees, souveniers, decorative lamps and more stuff! So anyway, we just walked almost the whole stretch of shops. They look like Pasar Malams but they’re there all the time because its for tourists?

But anyway, after walking the whole stretch (it was bout 10+ ?) we headed off the Esplanade. We had supper and took photos! Well or rather, I did the phototaking. Took a polaroid and headed off home (it was around 12 by then?). So when we got back home, we found this lil kitty at the lift area and everyone was just playing with it. The lift door opened and Joyce carried the kitty into the lift. We brought it home! Everyone was deciding on whether to keep it or not. Fed it water and some bread? So anyway, skipping discussions, I took the lil thing off to shower? Heck I didn’t know what I was doing so I called up Charis via Msn Video and she gave me some instructions and all. The kitty kept on mewing away, made me feel so bad cause it was cold, shivering and it must be thinking “I should never have came into this house” or something like that. But yeah, we bathed it, dried it, then just cuddled it. After it got dry and not so nervous, it ran around the house jumping and trying to play with almost anything it could find. Jiayi decided to name her (I think so?) Brownie but Pei Zhen was like, why not Japanese? Takeshi? Ayumi? Ah I don’t know. But anyway, it fell asleep soon after in this pail thingy which we put an entire bedsheet in so it would be quite comfortable. The kitty could still jump out of the pail and yeah. It just slept there. Im quite worried about the shit and all though. :/ Not sure how to find it. We put her in the kitchen and made sure nothing sharp was around that could hurt her.

This morning I woke up and went in to find her stoning on her bed. After seeing me and all, she got up abit and stretched. Fed her water and bread again and she got bored of it soon after. Worried about what would she be able to eat, Raymond and I headed off to Caltex to see if there were any pet food. But obviously no. Giant was still closed so we settled for HL Milk. Im not sure if its good / bad for Brownie but she drank it up like there was no tomorrow. I refilled the dish and we left for work. Its lunch time soon and I’m thinking of dropping home and check on her. She’s just so cute. I’ll upload pictures of her soon~

Cheers~!

alright! I’ll leave blogging about Friday to another time because of the pictures..

Anyway! Today Cherry (lecturer) took me to the docs due to some skin problems on my feet. The doctor is amazing. He was even given the title Sir from the King or something like that. His clinic was really really crowded when we got there. Cherry’s mom made an apointment for me at 11 am, we registered at 10.15 am and only got in at 11.45 am. It was THAT crowded. While waiting, Cherry brought me down the road to have coconut, walk walk abit. We discussed about many many things.. from S to D and then S to D. hahaha! Some people MIGHT get what it is. But it was fun, talking.. gossiping and stuff. *muahahaha*

Well, before I got in, Cherry and her mom wanted to go in with me like to see the doc that kinda thing? So they just came in with me anyway and the doc just automatically assumed that Cherry’s mom was my mom and Cherry was my elder sister. The whole thing was quite funny because when he was diagnosing on what my feed had, he suddenly turned to Cherry and said” You look very pretty with p*****s* ah!” (i better asterisk those letters). SO RANDOM!! And Cherry was like laughing and all. So anyway, after he prescribed some medication and all, he asked Cherry if he could see her about her ‘problem’.

Doc : “So whats your name?”

Cherry: ” Oh, Cherry.”

Doc : “So you’re Alastair’s sister ah?”

Cherry: ” Yeah.”

Doc: “So Cherry Leong, I think this this this …. will be good for you..”

WAH CHERRY STARTED LAUGHING SO HARD! Her mom as well! Really really funny! The doc was a really nice guy. He knows his stuff man! Can even spell out the thingy.. i forgot the name… The cost was like 135RM?! SO ex!! I got MC though.. haha.

After the docs, our stomachs were growling…. We went off to eat Beef Kway Teow Soup. MAN! The soup was the BEST! It was so thick I could call it Broth. All the stuff inside was the best too! I don’t think I can find anything like this in Singapore. Cherry’s mom ordered Oyster Egg Crispy. WOOT! It was just yummy and delicious la. That was it. So anyway, they were sending me back and we kinda got lost? We came to an unfamiliar road and they had to call Cherry’s dad for directions.. So anyway we were driving driving then I found stuff familiar then yeah got back to the office.

Anyway, THANKS SO MUCH MISS CHERRY (JIE) and MISS CHERRY’S MOM for taking the time to pick me up, making the appointment, bringing me to the docs, bring me for lunch and then back! I really appreciate !! THANKS SO MUCH! (:

Ok I shall end off here. (:

Cheers

Well I promised you pictures so here they are.

I didn’t upload ALL fo them because I took a fair share of about 200+ shots? So these are jus the few photos that I took during the trip. Some of the shots would be from Raymond. I’ll explain along the way. Well, the trip wasn’t exactly a succesfull one mainly because of the weather change. On the boat ride over to the island, we experienced a storm. I repeat, a storm. The sea was choppy and people started vommiting (I shan’t mention names) . The boat was cold as ever and to avoid vommiting some people tried to sleep it off. Before leaving the jetty, we were given a chance to see 3/4 of a rainbow?

Taken in the boat

And just as the boat left, I went out to take this real gloomy shot? Well ok, we weren’t on a boat, it was a ferry. So yeah. People claimed that they could see one end of the rainbow while others both ends. I was just finding a spot where I could take a shot because there were ALOT of people rushing out to take photos of the rainbow.

Taken from the outside

Well anyway, we arrived safely in Langkawi. Boarded this van thingy our supervisor – Bernard rented and headed off to our resort? Well, I forgot to mention who went for this trip. Bernard, Vincent (real nice guy), Sam (Vincent’s wife), Nick (New collegue and real funny dude), and the 6 of us – Raymond, Edmund, Yong Han, Jiayi, MunYee and me. That makes 10 of us. I shall upload a photo of the van another time. Well, so we reached our beach resort and unpacked and stuff. We were about to go enjoy our nice beach when it started to pour abit. Some of us wanted to recover from the rough ride from the ferry and we just slacked in the room. We went out when the rain stopped and we did have fun. The waves were HUGE. Well not THAT huge, just huge because we never saw this kinda wave in Singapore. Well not me anyway. We bought waterproof cameras to take pictures of our water fun. Its yet to be developed so once its done I’ll upload that as well. Pushing, pulling, swimming, jumping all in the waves. We buried Edmund in sand and somehow a sandfight started? I don’t know. I was busy taking pictures. We went out at night to have a nice nice dinner with a 2 hr wait for the egg dish.

So after dinner, we decided to like walk along the streets? There were a few shops around our place so we decided to check it out, do some shopping.. stuff like that. But I didn’t find anything interesting, so I got nothing. But I did take some shots along the way. Especially of people goofing around!

Nick and Yong Hang looksl like they’re girls. My oh my. But it was funny. Seeing all of them posing like this. (: Things to do outside a shop while others shop – take pictures! But there’s only one.

Well it started to rain abit so we headed back to our place. We just lazed around, played dai dee for abit, planned for the next day, stuff like that. Vincent lost in dai dee and I dared him to go down (his room was on the 2nd level with a balcony) and call out to his wife and sing the MOST romantic song he can think of romantically. Well he did it of course after much persuasion.. but it was sweet that he actually did it. It was fun seeing him doing something like that. I hope Sam was touched! Well here’s a picture of the beach at night. Looks a tad weird but, yeah I quite like it.

The next day Bernard suggested going for UnderWater World. It was 38 RM and from the outside we didn’t think it was rather worth it. But we still got a chance to see what was inside. (:

So we (the 6 of us) just shopped around that area, walking into DFS and such like that. Chocolates, alcohol, perfumes were all super cheap!

So then anyway after that we headed to ride the cable car but on the way we stopped by this place where it was like a port for yachts? Similar to Keppel Bay in Singapore. We stopped there for a pit stop and took pictures before heading up to take the cable car.

It started pouring and the cable car station didn’t open. We didn’t want to waste our trip to that location, we started looking around for things to do. We found a place where they had elephant feeding and rides. Riding in the rain on an elephant for 70RM was a bit too expensive. So we just kept to feeding the elephant for 10RM. It was quite nice, being upclose to a huge giant anima

It didn’t stink or anything but it was real cute. Bernard wanted to be exceptionally close to it for a photo but the elephant swayed its trunk ALMOST hitting him (Bernard).

We moved on then to feeding rabbits and deers. Rabbits were so so cute. Once they knew you got food, they’ll swarm to you like nobody’s business.

Deers as well!

Bernard poured some food on Raymond while he bent down to feed the rabbits. And the deer literally ate of his back. !_!

Well the rabbits were too cute for me NOT to pick up. So I did pick it up. It was light, fluffy and cute.

OK. SO anyway after all our fun, we went to Langkawi’s town, Kuah to have dinner.

We started to shop around. I only took one picture cause the shop assitant didn’t let me take anymore.

We walked around after dinner and then to home. We all slept quite early i might add and the next day we were quite determined to go to the beach. Thank God that the weather was quite good in the morning. Raymond, nick and I headed down beach to check out if they offered water activities and they did! BUT they didn’t open so early. SO ah wells, we went to the beach anyway, enjoying the waves and all. Yong Han lost and found his specs twice. So darn lucky. Good thing Edmund found it the first time round but then he lost it again.. But everything’s alright and Yong Han has his 4 year old specs again. All beach shots were taken with the underwater camera. So I’ll upload those pictures once their developed. So anyway, after our morning swim, we washed up, checked out and shopped around till about 4+ ?

We then boarded the ferry and headed back. I slept and woke up at about 8? Went up to the top of the ferry with the others and took pictures. (:

Ok so that concludes our trip to Langkawi. I’ll update on monday again!

Cheers~!
